trendy kid names
02-02-12 11:06 AM

i hate trendy names for kids....

this morning on the schedule there's an Ashton and a Nakotah.  give me a fucking break.

"hey kid, do you like being named after that oscar-winning humanitarian from punk'd?  ohhhh i'm sorry, you claim to be named after the man who knocked up your mom... my bad!"

"hi little girl... are you named after a future state in the USA?  nakotah?  just north of north dakota?  i hate to break it to you, but you should've been named canada!"

holy shit, this afternoon there's a Trinaty (yes, it is spelled as written).  so fucking awful.

if/when kim and i get married and have a kid, i'm going to tell everyone ahead of time that we are seriously considering naming the kid "retarda," just to fish-out the people who automatically say "oh my goodness i lovvvvvvve that name!"  (which seems to be the go-to response when someone suggests a name that is so friggin absolutely dumb and awful).

maybe retarda is in poor taste.... scratch that idea.  instead, i'm going to tell people that the kid will be named Cialis for a boy, and Kotex for a girl.  just because i lovvvvvvvvve those names.

::sigh:: just venting,

I hate trendy names too...I like names like Ethan and Lily. Classic, clean, and simple.

Lily is one of my favorite names ever.

BAHAHHA.
I wanna have twins, a boy and a girl, and steal your idea and name them Cialis and Kotex.
Trendaaaaaay.

I was told by several people that Benjamin David was way too boring and or too bibilical. The bibilical part was a bonus since my son really was named after family memebers. I should have named him Asher or Nolan or even Cale :X. Just because you decide to name your kid Cale instead of Kale doesn't mean you did not name your kid after a vegetable!

My first daughter's name is Izsobella and my grandpa told me it was a Mexican name. Then I heard a bunch of stuff about Twilight which I hadn't read at the time and a few from Grey's Anatomy. This current baby's name is Illythia which we got from Spartacus on Starz but we call her Thia. That name is too far out for most of my family. I think they might have disowned me if I went with Apple or Neveah or Pilot Inspektor. Naming kids is hard. I picked my names out when I was young but my husband didn't like them so we had to work together to come up with names. He was surprisingly picky.

izsobella is a great name with lots of history... just because some movie/book etc came out with the same name doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it that's for sure! i'mmmmmm talking more about names that are just shit thrown together to sound 'unique' (in fact, i've seen a little girl named yunique... i wanted to puke).

That is terrible. I don't hear a lot of crazy names since I live in a small town full of white farmers. They like to keep it normal.

Kayden, Jayden, Hayden....I get tired of these.

Lmfao!
Cialias and Kotex.
That's great.

I was pretty pissed when I named my son Brayden and then the whole Aiden, Kaiden, Jayden shit started.
I was like HOW THE HELL did everyone have the same idea?
It was weird.

it IS weird how names become popular in patterns... my mom said growing up there were always 4 or 5 janets in her class (her name is also janet)... meanwhile today, how many janets can you name? nonnnne.

I know someone who is stuck on the "unique boy name"
Rylain.
