loan repayment
02-07-12 01:56 PM

just got an email today from the national health services corps saying 'because your site that you work does not rank high enough on our 'need-based' scale, we will not consider your application for loan repayment until after the cycle concludes in may.'  wtf?  first of all, their need score is a number that was designated in 2006.... uhhh the economy has tanked since then.... the sites i work at are high-friggin-need.

if i don't get this loan repayment, then i'm the hell out of here... why wake up at 5:30am tuesday-friday and drive an hour and a half to go to work, when i'm set to take an enormous pay-cut?

there are good people here... great staff... patients are nice... but the bottom line is money... if i was a few years away from retirement, i would lovvvve to stay and work on a sliding-scale.... but i'm newly out of school with those big loans.... this job was supposed to be sweet BECAUSE of loan-repayment...

That sucks. I definitely wouldn't stay if they weren't going to work with you on loan repayment. I understand the loan thing. I've been there myself. I hope it gets better.
